International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Moving Picture Technicians, Artists and Allied Crafts of the United States, Its Territories and Canada was founded in 1893. IATSE Local 336 was chartered in 1962 and we have a long history of working/fighting for stagehands and film workers in Arizona. As a member you will have a voice and vote on all collective bargaining agreements, contracts/wage scales and you will have representation in the work place for any/all grievances.

"Unions mean better pay, benefits, and working conditions for their members; they force employers to treat employees with dignity and respect." ... Michael Yates - Collective bargaining is the key foundation to unions and the work is ongoing. People are the UNION. People working together for living wages, good contracts and safe working conditions are stronger than going it alone. Unions provide good salaries, pensions and health care benefits and continue to work to ensure that the middle class stays alive and eventually thrives. You have the opportunity to provide for your families while continuing to learn through apprentice and learning programs. It's a win/win for both companies and employees when a union is organized in a workplace.

Right to Work and At-Will Employment are not the same BUT combined they make the state of Arizona a very big challenge for Unions. Employers can terminate employees who do not have a written employment contract for any non-discriminatory, non-retaliatory reason.  This is because Arizona is an at-will employment state, not because it is a right-to-work state. Right to Work states "No person shall be denied the opportunity to obtain or retain employment because of non-membership in a labor organization, nor shall the State or any subdivision thereof, or any corporation, individual or association of any kind enter into any agreement, written or oral, which excludes any person from employment or continuation of employment because of non-membership in a labor organization." When you work through IATSE Local 336 you are bound to the Collective Bargaining Agreement - you will receive the wages and conditions in that contract and you are expected to abide by that contract whether or not you are member.
